The Frog & Toad

There was a young frog

Who fell in love with a toad

He spotted one morning

By the side of the road

My names Freddie

He casually said

But she didn’t reply

Rolling her eyes instead

Undeterred, he smiled

Requesting with glee

Her company

For afternoon tea

The toad shrugged her shoulders

Having nothing to say

Much to the smitten frog’s

Utter dismay

But Freddie wasn’t ready

To simply give in

Countering her coolness

With a gormless grin

What’s your name?

He nervously muttered

It’s Angel

She softly uttered

Wow, that’s beautiful

Freddie gushed

Turning crimson

Angel blushed

All of a sudden

This confident guy

Felt all at sea

And frightfully shy

Mustering all his courage

Freddie gave it one last try

Putting his heart on the line

In hope of a positive reply

We could hop to the beach

And lounge in the sun

But Angel shook her head

At the mention of such fun

Freddie was distraught

And exasperated too

There must be something

Angel wants to do

I know said Freddie

What about the fair

Hop on my back

I’ll take you there

Heartbreakingly

No reaction

A flustered Freddie

Can’t get no satisfaction

Pizza, Cinema

Maybe a boat ride

Scrabble, Monopoly

My goodness, he tried

Angel he pleaded

Is there anywhere you want to go

She pointed to the sky and said

Take me over the rainbow

Freddie gulped

But couldn’t say no

So off they hopped

Chasing down the rainbow

Through lush green valleys

Over meandering streams

Went Angel and Freddie

In search of their dreams

It was wild and exciting

Not knowing what they’d find

On fire with freedom

And adventure in mind

They chased it all day

With boundless vigour

But it never got nearer

Or appeared any bigger

Eventually they stopped and took a moment

To admire the beauty they stood under

Holding hands, they looked up

Marvelling at its wonder

Then all of a sudden

To their dismay and surprise

The rainbow faded away

Right in front of their eyes

Fearing he had let Angel down

Freddie dropped his head and cried

It doesn’t matter that we didn’t get there

Said Angel, I just love it that you tried

Then she leant over to Freddie

Imparting the softest kiss

His heart swelled with love

Life doesn’t get more beautiful than this

Freddie has found his forever

At the end of the rainbow

Regardless of what life throws

He’ll never let her go

Life can be wonderful

It has to be said

This morning Freddie was all alone

Now he’s loving Angel instead.

Those Red Heels

Hard to explain

Just how it feels

Drives me insane

When you wear those red heels

That sexy strut

Oozes style

With nothing but

A mischievous smile

Smooth black tights too

Its way beyond nice

Keep doing what you do

I’m in paradise

Can’t tear my eyes away

Fight this godly attraction

Amidst an ordinary day

You’re a spectacular distraction

I’m walking a line

Between desire and duty

This old heart of mine

Can’t absorb such beauty

You’ll forever be a fantasy

In those red heels

Even though we’ll never be

I love how it feels

My Heart

You hold my heart

Treat it as your own

From the start

It’s been yours alone

Since that first glance

It beats only for you

Bursting with romance

For a love so true

The touch of your hand

It pounds so strong

Not hard to understand

It’s saying we belong

Embossed with your name

Swollen with desire

Never felt the same

Since you set it on fire

When we’re apart

My lonely heart aches

They’ll only ever be you

To ensure it never breaks

Each and every night

A feeling my heart adores

As you hold me tight

And it beats close to yours

If…..Laced With Love

If you can dream with no ceiling

Soar without wings

Experience the wondrous feeling

Liberation brings

If you can recognise value

Nor covet material possessions

Bestow respect when due

Accepting faults and transgressions

If you can follow your heart

When the naysayers scream no

Even when it tears you apart

You’re a hero

If you can dance through the darkness

Creating your rainbow

Brighter days, no less

Are destine to follow

If you can navigate life

Retaining the enthusiasm of a child

Amidst both serenity and strife

Radiating grace so mild

If you can make love with searing passion

But not lust after the forbidden

Kiss in the most enthusiastic fashion

Displaying emotions once hidden

If you can treat people as equals without exception

Staying humble, regardless of wealth

Whilst resisting the urge to profit from deception

Upholding morals dear to oneself

If you can offer solace to a stranger

In the midst of their darkest hour

Shield society’s vulnerable from danger

Fuelled by love’s power

If you can counter with kind acts

In the face of unflinching hate

Ignore rumour in favour of facts

Let happiness be your fate

If you can tolerate the merchants of misery

Whilst spreading seeds of hope

Enriching souls aching to be free

With the strength to cope

If you can walk in another man’s shoes

Without judgement or cruel tongue

Be considerate with your views

To those you exist among

If you can sing with swallows

At first morning light

Cherishing what follows

Glorious day, majestic night

If you can love like there’s no tomorrow

Without hindrance of regret

Despite the spectre of sorrow

You’ll find your sunset

If you can walk with dignified restraint

In the shadow of death

No utterance of compliant

Until your final breath

If you can muster the strength to smile

When inside, your heart is breaking

Just hold on my friend for a while

This beautiful world is yours for the taking.

The Kiss

Tip of the heart

Gateway to the soul

Lips play a part

In making us whole

A delicate touch

The subtlest caress

Means so much

Its heavenliness

When hopelessly in love

They’re impossible to ration

Like stars up above

Laced with passion

It takes but a moment

But can last forever

A Gloriously potent

Paradisiacal endeavour

A wondrous feeling

Magical to find

Heads floating, hearts reeling

Lovers entwined

Lost in a fantastical reality

Inhabited by two

Far removed from normality

But deliciously true

Once it ends

You ache like never before

But the heart never mends

If the body craves more

No other act

Encapsulates such beauty

Should never be matter of fact

Or performed out of duty

Sometimes ever so tender

Or delivered with lustful aggression

Recipient or sender

The ultimate expression

Kissing your lover

With raging desire

A feeling like no other

Perpetual fire

In its absence I contemplate

The emotion I’ll miss

I’ll forever celebrate

The majesty of a kiss

She Smiles With Her Eyes

Dark and alluring

She smiles with her eyes

I can’t help but stare

And fantasise

Her blood red lips

I long to kiss

Lost in her gaze

Eternal bliss

Her mere presence

Makes my day

Hopelessly lost

In a gorgeous way

The slightest glance

Causes my heart to pound

Its all sunshine and rainbows

When she’s around

Effortlessly sparkling

Like a diamond in the sunlight

Can’t help but dream

Of holding her tight

Dripping with beauty

So easy to adore

I have her friendship

But ache for more

Each rare moment together

Is mine to cherish

Savouring seconds

That ultimately perish

To always love her

Is my destiny

Impossible to fight

I’ll just let it be.

Trapped in paradise

My future holds no surprise

Because I’m in love

With the woman who smiles with her eyes
